A HOST of seasonal treats and surprises are in store at the St Cuthbert’s Hospice Christmas Fair next week.
St Cuthbert’s Hospice, based in Merryoaks, Durham City, is getting ready for Yuletide with its annual festive fair on Saturday, November 21 from 11am to 2pm.
This year, the event will take place at Ushaw College and hospice staff and volunteers are busy transforming the venue into a winter wonderland.
Highlights will include stalls selling an array of unique Christmas gifts, as well as a tombola, a chocolate and bottle tombola, a raffle and sweet treats.
Father Christmas will also be there in his grotto, ready to find out who has been naughty or nice.
Jade McArdle, community and events fundraiser at St Cuthbert’s Hospice, said: “The Christmas Fair is a much loved event at St Cuthbert’s and it’s always a pleasure to welcome people to celebrate the festive season with us.
“With so much on offer, the event will undoubtedly appeal to all ages; there will be lots of fantastic stalls for both adults and children – it’s also a great chance to get a head start on Christmas shopping.”
This year around 1,000 individuals will have received care and support from St Cuthbert’s Hospice.
All services are provided for free-of-charge to people who have been affected by life limiting illnesses and £1.3million must be raised annually to fund the hospice’s work.
Admission to the Christmas Fair is via a charity donation.
