St Cuthbert’s Hospice organisers of this year’s Light Up a Life campaign, which will culminate in a moving Yuletide service in Durham Cathedral, have secured its sponsorship by a well-known local company
Kay Welsh, Donor Development Co-ordinator at the hospice said: “We are so grateful to Stuart Wright Funeral Service. They are helping us once again to pay for our promotional material and publicity costs and we really couldn’t do it without them.
“Without this continuing support, the money the hospice raises from this event would be very much reduced.”
Funeral boss Stuart Wright said: “Backing the Light Up a Life appeal is actually our privilege and honour.
“I have been in business in this area since before St Cuthbert’s Hospice formed in 1988 and in all that time, I have never heard anything but praise from any of my customers. I know and appreciate the respect with which the hospice treats people.”
Last year’s service at Durham Cathedral was attended by hundreds of local people remembering their loved ones. They raised over £10,000. This year’s Light Up a Life event will be held at 7pm on December 14th.
Light up a Life is one of St Cuthbert’s Hospice’s biggest annual campaigns, and is mirrored by many other hospices across the UK. At this time of year, the hospice invites the community to remember a loved one and Light up a Life by donating to St Cuthbert’s Hospice. All names are entered into the Light up a Life book of remembrance which is dedicated at a special service at Durham Cathedral in December.
